Angelina Jolie’s Father Urges Brad Pitt to End Divorce Battle
Actor Jon Voight, the father of Angelina Jolie, has expressed his desire for Brad Pitt to end the ongoing conflict with his daughter for the sake of their children.
In an interview with Fox News Digital on August 23, Jon Voight, 86, stated, “I hope this comes to an end, and that both of them find a way to reconcile.” He voiced concern that the continued discord between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt could negatively impact their children, emphasizing the need for a resolution.
He added, “I believe the kids need stability. I love my grandchildren, and I love my daughter. I want Brad to stop this nonsense.” Fox News suggested that the “nonsense” Voight referred to is the prolonged divorce battle between the Hollywood stars.
Jon Voight and Angelina Jolie were estranged for many years, to the point of not speaking to each other. However, Voight has mentioned his daughter in several recent interviews. In June, he expressed pride when Jolie and her daughter Vivienne won the Tony Award for Best Musical for “The Outsiders,” a project they co-produced. Voight noted that the director praised Vivienne’s talent and keen eye.
In response to Jon Voight’s comments, Brad Pitt’s representatives declined to comment. However, a source told Page Six that Pitt’s motivation for pursuing the lawsuit over their French vineyard was driven by concerns for his children. The “Fight Club” star reportedly wants to ensure that the children receive maximum benefits from the Miraval Chateau estate, which is why he is fiercely protecting it. The source explained that if the estate is sold, the children stand to lose a significant portion of their inheritance.
The divorce battle between the “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” stars is still unresolved. In addition to disputes over the estate’s shares, the couple has repeatedly requested each other to disclose confidentiality agreements, accusing the other of using these agreements to conceal personal misconduct.
Since mid-July, Angelina Jolie has shown a willingness to have Brad Pitt drop the lawsuit. According to court documents, the actress hopes her ex-husband will cease the legal disputes to repair family relationships. As of now, most of their children have sided with Jolie, except for 16-year-old Knox, who has yet to express his opinion on his parents’ conflict.
Shiloh, the couple’s eldest daughter at 18, was the first to legally change her name to Shiloh Jolie. Maddox, 23, Zahara, 19, and Vivienne, 16, have publicly dropped their father’s surname at events and in informal documents. Pax Thien, 21, is reportedly unwilling to accept any communication from Brad Pitt after being involved in a car accident in late July.
