Ariana Grande admitted:
“I’m going to say something really scary—it’s going to freak my fans and everyone out—but I love them, and they’ll be fine. I will always make music, I will always be on stage, I will always make pop music, I promise. But I don’t see myself working at the pace I’ve been working for the past ten years in the next ten years.”

Rediscovering Her Love for Musical Theater

Playing Glinda in the upcoming film adaptation of Wicked has rekindled Ariana Grande first love: musical theater. She expressed, “It’s where my heart is.” The no tears left to cry singer reflected on her roots:“Reconnecting with the part of myself that started in musical theater and comedy… it’s been healing. Finding roles where I can channel these parts of myself into characters, music, voices, and songs has been so fulfilling.”

Her experience on the set of Wicked has inspired Ariana Grande to seek more acting roles that allow her to combine her acting and singing talents. She explained, “Anything meaningful, or roles that we think make sense, where I can do a good job or honor the material—I really want to pursue those. I think that’s much healthier for me.”

Ariana Grande acknowledged that her fans might be saddened by the news that she won’t release music as frequently as she did over the past decade. However, many fans have shown their understanding and support for her decision to focus on acting in the coming years.

Still, some hope that Ariana Grande, born in 1993, won’t follow in the footsteps of her predecessor Rihanna, who, after diving into other ventures, left her fans “starving for music” for years.
