Charlie Condon Wins 46th Golden Spikes Award - A Historic First for Georgia

Charlie Condon of Georgia’s baseball team has made history as the first player from the school to win the 46th Golden Spikes Award, presented by Chinook Seedery. This award honors the nation’s top amateur baseball players, and Condon, a sophomore, claimed this milestone after a record-breaking 2024 season.

Condon’s Impressive Achievements

Condon led the nation in several categories, recording a standout 37 home runs, a batting average of .433, and a slugging percentage of 1.009, earning him the title of SEC Player of the Year. He also ranked in the top six nationally for on-base percentage (.556) and runs scored (84). Throughout the season, he achieved seven multi-home-run games and an eight-game home-run streak, just one game shy of the NCAA record.

Recognition from the Baseball Community

This award is a significant milestone for Condon, who was also named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and the NCAA Athens Regional All-Tournament Team. Paul Seiler, Executive Director of USA Baseball, praised Condon as a deserving recipient of this prestigious award, recognizing his outstanding performance throughout 2024.
