After the fall, he humorously thanked the crew member who helped him, saying, “That wasn’t part of the plan. Thanks for catching me.” Fortunately, Martin was unharmed, and the concert continued as scheduled.

Despite the unexpected fall, Chris Martin’s mishap did not cause any injuries. Coldplay’s performance at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne later went on to set a new attendance record for the venue. Over 227,000 fans turned out to see the band, surpassing the previous record set by AC/DC in 2010, which had been 181,495 attendees.

Other Stage Mishaps: Olivia Rodrigo’s Fall

Chris Martin wasn’t the only artist to encounter a stage-related mishap in Melbourne recently. Olivia Rodrigo, who performed at Rod Laver Arena on October 14, also had an unexpected fall when she stepped into a hole on stage. Afterward, Rodrigo humorously reassured her fans, saying, “Oh my god, that was so funny,” before revealing she went to the hospital to check for a concussion. She later shared that a nurse who treated her shared the same name as her late grandfather, which she considered a sign of protection.
