Nicki Minaj, the global rap sensation, was arrested by Dutch police just hours before her highly anticipated concert, leaving tens of thousands of fans confused and disappointed.

Scheduled to perform at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, UK, on May 25, as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour, the concert was unexpectedly postponed due to Minaj’s arrest in Amsterdam, Netherlands. As fans eagerly awaited her arrival, news broke of the rapper’s arrest, causing widespread confusion among concertgoers.

Arrest in Amsterdam for Alleged Drug Possession

According to multiple reports,  Nicki Minaj was detained at the Amsterdam airport on suspicion of drug possession. A video posted by Minaj on her personal social media showed her being stopped by airport security. In the video, officers informed her that they needed to conduct a thorough search of her bags due to security concerns.

“They don’t believe you’re not carrying what you said you’re carrying,” one of the airport staff told Minaj in the video. This suspicion may have been sparked by an earlier post she made on X (formerly Twitter), where she mentioned: “By the way, this is Amsterdam, where marijuana is legal.” Despite Minaj’s denial of possessing any marijuana, she was escorted to the police station for further questioning.

The livestream continued to show Minaj being taken to a police car without her lawyer present, despite her insistence on speaking to legal counsel. One of the officers reassured her that they would try to help her reach her Manchester concert as soon as possible.

Concert Postponed and Accusations of Sabotage

The Co-op Live Arena confirmed the postponement of the concert, leaving fans awaiting further updates. Minaj later took to social media, alleging that her arrest was part of a larger effort to sabotage her Pink Friday 2 World Tour.

“They were paid a lot of money to sabotage my tour,” Minaj claimed in an emotional rant, suggesting that individuals within her management team had conspired to delay her shows. She added that her previous managers had inflated the costs of her private jet, pocketing an extra $30,000-$50,000, which led to her firing multiple tour managers.
